Volleyball starts strong

This year’s volleyball team is a strong, hardworking group of girls who always display great teamwork and strong companionship. They started out with hope and excitement for the new year because of the new coach. When asked about how they performed this year as compared to past years, Kjersten Hillers, number 12, said this year’s volleyball team  did better because of Coach Karadzic, who “did an outstanding job connecting with the team, teaching, and motivating. Some of their success was also attributed to the “new coaching technique and high standards” of the new coach.

Some of their strengths were focused on working together and being strong when they may  made a mistake. The girls were also very social with each other off  the court as well. Ninth grader Isabella Capuano said  the team dinners were one of the best team building activities because they “got to hangout out of a practice environment and have fun… and have delicious food.”

Even though they did well on and off of the court, there were some important people who made it possible for their success to happen. Ceci Teston, a student visiting from Italy, had a bit of struggle when learning how to communicate, but turned out to be an outstandingly smart player. Kali Enyeart supported the team  with her fantastic line drive serves.

The students at school really helped out by going to the games, because the players felt  they could feed off  the great energy of the crowd.

One thing  the volleyball team would like to improve on in the future is getting out the message for volleyball fans across the Cougar nation to come and support them. Overall,  the girls felt this was a really good season. All of that hard work paid off in having only one loss at a game!
