With a new year comes a new start, a new council, and new goals. This year’s Native Youth Council comes complete with a new generation of students and all new goals which were announced on Thursday, October, 29 during the meeting.

“The goals for this year includes finding potential ways to help each other out like a family, sharing and exploring our own native culture, and helping students gain information on how to obtain scholarships,” said Council President David Thomas when asked about what the objectives for this year’s Native Youth Council.

Another goal that was announced was the community service project that had been agreed upon at the last meeting last year, which was a mural to be hung in the Library, to show the presence and representation of the tribes at CKHS. Various potential designs/concept art for it were shown, but none were selected. It was agreed that the subject would be expanded upon at the next meeting.
