Artificial intelligence can be used for good and become a great way to help improve the way we live, but it can also be used too much, making content lack the creativity that good content needs. AI is when machines learn from data and recognize patterns in order to give a response, but some of the data AI gets is from the internet, making the responses biased. AI is a murmur of ideas, not an original thought.
One of the main concerns people around the world have about AI is jobs being replaced. According to EcnoFact, 5.1 million+ jobs have been replaced by AI as of 2025, including data entry, customer service, translation, basic writing/editing, and repetitive manufacturing warehouse work.
According to Duke Center for Teaching And Learning, depending on AI too much can also have an affect on the user. If the user feels like they don’t have to come up with there own unique thoughts and rely on AI to do all the heavy lifting, it will overtime decrease your critical thinking skills.
It doesn’t only damage the users critical thinking skills, but the environment too, as it’s very costly to rely on it as much as people do. According to the Penn State Energy Institute And Environment, by 2030, data centers could account for 20 percent of global electricity consumption, putting a lot of stress on power grids.
AI has very few limits, giving it several use cases. People can only learn so much, but AI can learn about almost anything, giving it a big advantage over someone who specializes in only one thing. AI can’t wear out either, which makes it especially useful for long periods of time, letting you work for as long as you need without stopping. AI is also faster and more efficient than a person, so doing repetitive and precise tasks are a lot easier.
Overall, I think the pros outweigh the cons just enough to where it would be smart to continue using AI just with some restrictions. Large AI company’s should find better ways to cool there machines, and people around the world shouldn’t rely on AI as much as they do. With restrictions and precautions, the pros of AI heavily outweigh the cons.
