Every up and coming sports star dreams of getting a scholarship to the college they want to attend. These seven seniors have been working hard all throughout their sports careers to receive their scholarships: Michaela Wallitner will be going to Central Washington University for soccer,

Melissa Johnson to University of Redlands for Soccer, Kendal Yaegle to Central Washington University for football, Griffin McCormick to Bellevue Community College for baseball, Senior Aki Buckson to Bellevue Community College for baseball, Nolan Wiler to University of Puget Sound for baseball, and Elise Freund to Pacific Lutheran University for softball.

Wallitner explained why she chose Central: “CWU has been one of my top schools for a long time now. The coach began contacting me in sophomore year about scholarships and my future as a possible Wildcat, so I’ve been considering the school for a long time now. They have a really good flight program that I’m looking to join as well, so that was a big reason why I chose Central.”

Aki Buckson, going to Bellevue Community College, said it is only a “stepping stone that will provide me with an environment to improve upon my game, and provide me with the exposure I need to move on to a Division One school.” Buckson continued, “I was happy to receive a scholarship from Bellevue college, but it is not something I will be satisfied with.”
