Alice Cassel stands outside the University of Idaho which she will be attending in the fall.

Every year, CKHS is forced to say goodbye to that year’s graduating class. Most students are excited to finally be done with the slump that is high school and a lot of students will continue to further their education by going to college. Many of our seniors are pursuing degrees ranging from engineering to business. One might think that attending a Washington school may be more convenient and less expensive, however lots of students here at CK have chosen out of state schools.

A popular out of state choice is Montana State University where our very own Brayden Howard, Connor Spannuth, Jason Gordon, and Victoria Allen will be attending. Brayden Howard excitedly stated, “I’m super excited to turn up and study nursing at Montana State University; Go Cats!” A second favorite option for a few students here at CK is Brigham Young University where Andrew Tower, Emily Byron, and Collin Gillespie have all been accepted.

Of course several students are choosing to stay in state also. Among the two most popular are Washington State University and University of Washington. Avery Neims got accepted into UW’s business program. He said, “I very much look forward to going to University of Washington and pursing a career in business.”

Several CK students are attending college for their athleticism. Some of these include Cameron Carroll, Starr Rodenhurst, Blake Trujillo, Nick Roberts, Isaiah McGee, and Kjersten Hillers. Blake Trujillo stated that he is “Super stoked to be attending CWU for track & field AND be with my best bro @MicahSwanberg.”

Sapphire Owens “is excited to go to WSU with a childhood friend and it’s a great school.”

Kayci Tanner said, “I’m really excited to go and study Athletic Training at Eastern; Go Eagles!”

Alice Cassel said, ”I’m really excited to attend the University of Idaho this fall! I will be an Honors Fellow in the Honors Program, so I think that at Idaho I can get the benefits of a smaller college with the resources of a larger research university.”

No matter where our fellow Cougs are going, we wish them great success and an awesome future. Go Cougs!
