Senior Brennan Dour, enjoys being part of the tennis team. “We’ve become such a tight knit brotherhood of gentleman.”

Dour began to play tennis in his sophomore year and has since loved the sport. He enjoys every single day at practice. A normal practice begins with a basic rally to warm up before beginning the matches. They improve technique and work on correcting all mistakes before the next big game.

Dour loves this part of practice because he feels the need to be the best he can be for his team. “Everything is about the team. We condition togetherIMG_8014F, we eat together, we do everything we can to better each other every time we see one another.”Dour encourages everyone to join the tennis team brotherhood next year. “It’s a great place to meet new people, it’s as much a social game as it is a sports game.”

Dour has learned to love each person on the team and treat them as brothers, and because this is his third year, Dour also acts as a coach for the younger players. Coaching them in technique, and sportsmanship.

“Some of the younger players have yet to understand that tennis really is a gentleman’s game. Whether you lost by six games or won all six, the best part is the handshake at the end of the match. It shows that winning isn’t what the game is about, it’s about being a true gentleman.”
