In her two years at CK, Sra. Logue has come to enjoy, “the comradery of the high school.”

This year, CKHS will be saying goodbye to one of our Spanish teachers, Senora Chris Logue. Two years ago, CKHS welcomed the new teacher who teaches Spanish 1 and 2. She arrives at CK during lunch, and teaches three classes. In addition to being a high school teacher, she also teaches at Fairview Junior High School and she previously taught at Olympic College as well as Olympic High School.

Logue has taught in the school system for a total of twenty-one years. In the beginning of her career, she taught for five years before taking a break to raise her children, and later got back to teaching.

When asked why she wanted to become a teacher, she explained, “I always knew. I would teach my neighbors growing up. When I was a junior and senior in high school, I participated in a foreign exchange program in Spain. It was then I knew I wanted to teach Spanish.”

As many people know, CK is getting a new school. While Logue will not be teaching at the new school, she said, “I will not miss the new school, but it is also very exciting and wonderful.”

Throughout her career, she saw changes that happened in the school system. Logue says, “Many years ago, teachers would just teach, now they have many more hoops to jump through.”

Now that she is retiring, she said, “I plan to travel and play grandma.” She said that she would love to see South America and Europe.

Her advice to future students is to “believe in themselves, know that they can accomplish anything they want, and to be nice.”
