Technology Classroom Policy In Journalism Class

by Wilson Zapata, writer

Technology has changed so much over the years at CKHS from phones to laptops being allowed and actually handed out to us. The laptops are very helpful. A Lot of people do not have access to computers at home.

Students that do not have access at home to internet, the library stays open until five everyday for students to finish work that they would not be able to do at home this gives a chance for everyone to excel and for no one to be left out of not being able to finish school work.so giving them their own laptops helps out alot with doing homework and school work that they otherwise would have had to go in for after school or before school.

We already have quite a lot of computer classes and Tech classes at our school and there are plenty of technology based activities at our school. The downside of this policy change and the freedom of having so much technology at our fingertips is that a lot of people will take advantage of this new power that they have like going on their phones and playing games on the computers, the school district did a good job of blocking most inappropriate sites but students will always some how manage to find a way past this, which is unfortunate but the people who want to pass their classes will use them correctly and won’t mess around with them while playing games and stuff.

Cameron kluge who has been In plentiful tech classes that include computer science, computer programming, regular and advanced computer repair said” allowing more technology in the school in my opinion is a good thing, It lets more students get ready for the future cause in our generation most of the jobs are going to be tech based so i think this will help out alot and get us ready for our futures and i think the policy will last for the a long time there isn’t a reason for it not to last nothing bad has come out of it so far.”

Logan Field who also takes a lot of tech classes like CAD, Advanced CAD, 3D Modeling and animation said” I actually don’t like it much because they require us to get a Chromebook and carrying that around is kind of annoying just takes up space and just gets in the way but I do like how we can have more freedom with our phones.”

Not everyone likes the new changes that have come to the high school which is expected everyone has their own opinions and that’s just the way it is. Change will continue to happen with new technology always coming on in.
