CK discusses their unfortunate loss after their away meet against Shelton, losing 0-3.

The boys swim season has started. The mission of Coach Patrick McKenzie and Coach Whitney Dodd is to work hard to make the season a success!  Senior Paul Lingenbrink is personally trying to improve his own times. He stated, “We are all currently grinding out yards and pushing ourselves to better our times.” He went on to say, “The workouts are tough, but they ultimately bring us to the desired goal.”  The team generally does not compare themselves to other schools, but each individual member strives to achieve new goals and shatter previous records.  These individual efforts can ultimately lead to a team win. Teams are scored based on the fastest swimmer for each event.  While individual times are important, it is the total team score at swim meets which determine the winning school. “The more people you have on the team, the more points you can earn,” said Lingenbrink.

Coach Patrick and Whitney are both phenomenal coaches, according to Lingenbrink. “Both of them have a lot of experience with coaching swim, which heightens my respect for them. They are completely fair, and they push us hard. I couldn’t imagine better coaches than them.”
