Last Thursday night, Oct. 28, the CKHS girls varsity volleyball team absolutely crushed it on their senior night against Yelm! Taking home the dub, the student section was absolutely hyped and definitely brought their school spirit to support their local lady cougars.

Starting off the game, students from CKHS choir did a spectacular job singing the national anthem right before announcing all the seniors players. The first quarter of the game, the lady cougars were starting off slow, but as the game progressed, they seemed to get in the rhythm.

Jada Kopp, junior, seemed to agree. Later after the game, Kopp was asked if she would change anything about how the game went and why,

“I think the only thing would be coming out with the same amount of energy that we ended with because that was really the only bad thing,” Kopp said.

Kopp was also asked why she thought CK got the outcome it did that night,

“We have spent the whole season working on playing altogether and building each other up, so after our bad first set, we really came together to bring up the energy and get the win,”  Kopp said.

Kopp wasn’t the only one to agree. According to David Schmidt, a bystander watching the game who was interviewed,

“They all played good man, I thought number four was killing it. Good teamwork,” Said Schmidt.

After the game, we were fortunate enough to interview senior Catherine Calma. When asked about her volleyball season, she enjoyed,

“Everyone, like meeting new people, learning how to work with others and different attitudes,” said Catherine.

The CKHS girls varsity volleyball team fought hard, played killer defense, and had a good last home game win to finish off their season. If you weren’t there, you missed out! Shout out to the senior girls: #1 Caitlin Johnson, #4 Cat Calma, #5 Hannah Richer, #6 Lauren Johanek, #7 Camryn Lingenbrink, #11 Tatiana Jones, #12 Carley Wilson, #13 Becca Roy.
